At Nova Scotia Health, the Radiation Therapist accurately and precisely prepares a cancer patient and their chart for administration of a course of radiation treatments. This includes fabrication of accessories (such as casts), treatment localization (through operation of a conventional simulator and operation of CT scanner with simulation software, treatment calculations (in-depth knowledge of treatment plans, dosimetry and outputs), data entry (for record and verify system and online image acquisition system), treatment delivery including external beam therapy, handling of radioactive sources and student teaching and precepting (for radiation therapy students, residents and visiting students).
About the Opportunity
Expression of interest for tuition sponsorship to complete a Radiation Therapy program at an accredited university/college and be eligible for licensure and registration with the Nova Scotia Regulator of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy (NSRMIRT).
Program leaders will work with successful candidates to offer tuition sponsorship and potential clinical placement at the Cape Breton Cancer Centre. This is an educational opportunity that is available to Nova Scotia residents interested in working at the Cape Breton Cancer Center and who are accepted into an accredited Radiation Therapist program. After successful completion of the program, candidates will be considered for vacancies within the Radiation Therapy program at Cape Breton Cancer Care Center.
Successful candidates will agree to complete the program and sign a defined Return of Service agreement.

What We Offer
Following completion of the Radiation Therapy program, successful candidates will be paid at the following rate when working in the classification:
$46.79 - $57.32 Hourly ($91, 241- $111,774 annually)
