About the Opportunity

The Health Services Manager and Site Lead is responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership, as well as Health Services Management for clinical services, in collaboration with other dept/program managers and Patient Care leaders at the site.
 

The Health Services Manager/Site Lead acts as the face of NSH in the local community with the general public and community partners, and supports efforts to improve the quality, safety & efficiency of services.
 

This position works collaboratively as part of the rural health leadership team to integrate service delivery within this site, across other sites in the northern zone, and across the nova scotia health system. 

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a Health-Related discipline (BScN preferred)
  • Five (5) years’ experience managing teams within a unionized environment
  • Experience developing and facilitating strategies consistent with the principles of Organizational Health
  • Demonstrated proficiency in program planning, financial and human resource management, oral and written communication and interpersonal effectiveness
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, analytical, problem solving, conflict resolution, negotiation, strategic thinking and decision-making skills, with the ability to successfully change, adapt, overcome, and cope with unexpected challenges
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strategic partnerships and collaborative working relationships with a variety of internal and external partners across the healthcare continuum
  • Demonstrated commitment to employee and self-development and continuous quality improvement
  • Proficiency with computer applications including Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel, internet, email, and the ability to utilize health information systems for decision support
  • Demonstrated regular attendance in current and previous employment
  • Physical and mental capabilities to perform the duties of the position such as managing multiple priorities, time-sensitive deadlines, stressful situations, working flexible/extended hours and travelling within and outside NSHA as necessary
  • Valid Nova Scotia Driver’s License and access to reliable vehicle
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours

  • Permanent, Full-time (100%) position; 75 hours bi-weekly
  • Beginning in July 2024

Compensation and Incentives

$44.13 - $58.63 Hourly

 

Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
