About the Opportunity

As part of the One Door Chronic Disease Management Team, the Registered Dietitian uses clinical practice guidelines to provide nutrition care and education to patients/clients with a variety of clinical conditions that require nutritional intervention. The Dietitian will deliver services to a variety of patient populations including high risk groups suffering from chronic diseases and/or complex multi-system diseases. This role will also provide health education to patients with a focus on health promotion, disease prevention, and chronic disease management. The Dietitian is a part of the Primary Health Care Program and reports to the Primary Health Care Manager. 

 

Please note this position provides services in Primary Health Care Centres throughout Pictou County area. A valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation is required.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

 

  • Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition at a recognized University required
  • Completion of Dietetic internship (a 1 year integrated or post graduate program) required
  • Licensure by Nova Scotia Regulator of Dietetics required 
  • Certification with the Canadian Board of Certified Diabetes Educators (CDE) required (or willingness to obtain within 2 years)
  • Certification in insulin dose adjustment for adults required
  • Certification in insulin dose adjustment for pump therapies required
  • Minimum of two (2) years related experience required (i.e. Primary Health Care, diabetes & chronic illness,  community-based services)
  • Access to reliable transportation for travel for work
  • Competencies in other languages an asset; French preferred

Hours

Permanent, full-time position; (75 hours bi-weekly)

Shifts may include evenings, weekends, and holidays

Compensation and Benefits

$37.27 - $51.62 Hourly
