About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Health Services Manager, the Secretary II carries out administrative duties and performs booking, scheduling, clerical and reception functions to support the team.
The Secretary ensures that the principles and practices that guide NSH such as the mission, vision, values, expected behaviors, respectful workplace, the leadership philosophy, organizational health, population health, ethics, safety, quality, partnerships and interprofessional collaboration are integrated within the services they provide and through the messages they deliver.
Exciting opportunity to work as part of an interprofessional team (Nurse practitioner, physician, physiotherapist, occupational therapist, social worker, dietitian), in the development and implementation of a new program to treat obesity as a chronic disease. Location of this new program is in the Sterling Health Centre in Glace Bay.
About You
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
- Successful completion of a recognized office administration program
- Minimum of two years of related secretarial experience required
- Completion of medical terminology course
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SAP/HRIS preferred
- Payroll entry is an asset
- Accurate keyboarding skills with a minimum speed of 45 wpm with a maximum five (5) percent error rate
- Experience with meeting and event logistics
- Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Must be self-directed and adept at problem-solving, while working with minimal supervision
- Must have strong organizational skills that demonstrate the ability to prioritize upon short notice while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Compensation and Benefits
$24.69 - $27.53 Hourly
