About the Opportunity

 

Reporting to the Perioperative Network, Manager Planning and Development, the Quality Improvement & Safety Advisor collaborates and participates with Quality Improvement, Safety & Patient Relations resources to achieve the objectives of Quality Improvement, Safety & Patient Relations within NSH’s overall provincial program for Quality & System Performance. The Quality Improvement & Safety Advisor coordinates, facilitates and supports the implementation of patient feedback, patient experience, quality, patient safety and accreditation plans to achieve the best outcomes in patient experience and high quality and safe health service delivery programs and continuous improvement to meet or exceed all accreditation requirements and legislative requirements within NSH’s overall provincial and zone programs. The Advisor ensures collaboration with stakeholders, while ensuring appropriate confidentialities; and ensures a person and family centered care approach is reflected in all aspects of planning, delivering and evaluating quality service delivery.

About You

 

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

 

  • Undergraduate degree from a health profession related discipline or other related field
  • Appropriate licensure/membership in professional organizations, as applicable
  • Project management training or experience an asset
  • Certificate or training related to patient and family engagement or feedback, quality, patient safety or related program an asset
  • Experience in implementing a variety of activities related to patient/client and family feedback, patient/client and family engagement, accreditation support, quality improvement, patient safety; provided across several locations with multiple partners and stakeholders and while ensuring appropriate confidentiality. 
  • In-depth knowledge of health care delivery system, comprehensive knowledge of building a just culture, 
  • Application of adult learning approaches and facilitation skills.
  • Experience in project management and program evaluation an asset. 
  • Knowledge of accreditation standards and Required Organizational Practices, and Safety Incident Management System preferred.
  • Experience engaging teams, leaders, medical staff, clinicians, patients/families/clients/public and stakeholders in a collaborative, participatory manner which supports the mission, vision, goals and objectives of NSHA and the Quality & System Performance portfolio.  
  • Applies understanding of team dynamics, change management and team building and ability to build consensus to implement change.
  • Experience and demonstrated expertise with in data management and data analysis; excellent report writing and presentation skills; proficient application of word processing, excel, database, PowerPoint and graphics software required;
  • Demonstrates high level of judgment within scope of duties, initiative, decision making, flexibility, problem solving skills, ability to work independently, innovative, and excellent organizational and time management skills, and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Hours

 

  • Permanent Full-time; 75 hours bi-weekly 
  • Location dependent on the successful candidate with the possibility of a hybrid work schedule
  • Travel to various sites may be required

Compensation and Benefits

 

$37.61- $47.01 Hourly
