About the Opportunity
The Undergraduate Student Nurse (USN) is an unregulated direct care provider who works as a member of the healthcare team providing safe patient/client/resident care while utilizing the nursing process.
The USN works in a collaborative practice environment, with various healthcare providers and is accountable to provide competent, safe, and ethical professional practice to individuals, families, and groups. Collaboration with other systems and external partners may be required.
Positions are open for new students who meet the 440 clinical hour requirement, have not already secured a role as an Undergraduate Student Nurse, and are not graduating until after June 2026. The start dates for this position will be May 2026.
Hiring will be made based on current operational needs across the organization. While we encourage applicants to indicate their preferred location, placement will depend on active needs at the time of application. Opportunities and availability may change at any time due to shifting organizaitional needs. Once an offer has been made, there will not be an opportunity to decline for another offer.

About You
We want to hear from you if you have the following:
- Active enrollment in an accredited education program including:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)
- Bachelor of Nursing (BN)
- Completed a minimum of 440 clinical hours as part of your education program
- Completed Physical Assessment and Pharmacology courses

Hours
- Various casual relief (no guarantee of hours) opportunities are available in various Medical, Surgical, Mental Health & Addictions, and Long-Term Care areas throughout Nova Scotia Health.
- Shifts may include days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- You will be asked to specify your work hours and location preferences in the screening questions that follow once you apply.
Compensation and Benefits
Undergraduate Student Nurse:
$27.90 hourly
