Applicants must be:
 

  • at least 16 years of age at the time of hire and currently enrolled in Grade 10, 11 or 12 and have previous relevant work experience
  • or have graduated with a High School diploma/GED
  • or are currently enrolled in or seeking enrollment in a post-secondary educational institution


The following positions are available, including a brief description:
 

  • Laundry Worker 
    • Ensure continuous processing of soiled and clean laundry and linen products.
  • Porter 
    • Provides an escort, transfer, transportation and delivery service as requested.
  • Unit Aide 
    • Responsible for ordering, stocking and maintaining all supplies and equipment to meet the needs of patients in their designated work area. 
    • Must have completed Grade 12  
  • Utility Worker in Housekeeping/Environmental Services 
    • Maintain clean and sanitary conditions in assigned areas. 
  • Health Support Aide
    • Responsible for daily routines of care to support patients/clients with activities of daily living. 
    • Must have completed Grade 12.
  • Utility Worker or Restaurant Worker in Nutrition & Food Services 
    • Works in the patient and retail food service setting. 
  • NS Health Ambassadors 
    • Responsible for promoting and building awareness on how to access care, and the services and programs available at NS Health.
  • Research Student Aide
    • The Research Student Aide contributes to a particular research study or division by assisting with study administration by providing general administrative support, shipping items, generating reports from databases, and data entry.
    • Must have completed Grade 12 and are currently enrolled in post-secondary student in an undergraduate or community college program.
  • Human Resource Students
    • The Human Resource Students may spend time within various components of HR contributing to a particular project or assisting with general administrative support, having the opportunity to experience first-hand the organization's HR related issues and challenges.    
    • Must have completed Grade 12 and are pursuing education and training specifically in the field of human resource management.

What We Offer

  • Hourly rate starting at $19.26 + 11% in lieu of vacation and benefits
  • Hourly rate of $15.20 - $19.20 + 4% in lieu of benefits for Research Aide positions
  • Casual relief opportunities with flexible work schedule 
  • Opportunity for advancement within the organization once you complete your education
  • Variety of shifts available including days, evenings, nights, weekend and holidays
