About the Opportunity

Reporting to an IMIT/OPOR Manager, the Project Manager oversees a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team responsible for the requirements, design, development, testing, and implementation of IM/IT and OPOR projects, and other initiatives throughout the province. This supports the organization and its client's direction towards the rationalization of disparate systems and the One Person, One Record (OPOR) strategy.

Demonstrating leadership behaviours and capabilities, consistent with LEADS in a Caring Environment framework, the Project Manager will be accountable to support the NSHA mission and vision in the implementation and evaluation of all required health information and technology for decision making. In addition, s/he will be accountable to:

Lead, implement and promote the provincial strategic direction under the guidance and direction of the IMIT/OPOR Manager.

Ensure a customer service focused approach throughout the portfolio by developing a stakeholder engagement strategy for planning and continuous quality improvement

Responsible for establishing and maintaining working relationships with clinical staff, physicians, clinical leaders and other business stakeholders to promote awareness of IM/IT systems and processes

Counsel the Directors and Program Manager with respect to clinical technology projects and alignment with the strategic direction of IM/IT and its clients, formal project management practices, key performance indicator development and reporting

Lead and motivate a high performing, dynamic, multi-disciplinary team promoting quality work, high levels of customer service in a cost effective manner

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Undergraduate degree is required (consideration may be given to those with equivalent training and work experience)
  • Minimum of five (5) to seven (7) years' leadership experience with IM/IT Services, project management, programs and services
  • Master's degree an asset, particularly in health administration, leadership, or business administration
  • Project Management Certification (PMP) required
  • Certified Health Executive (CHE) and/or Certified Professional in Healthcare Information and Management Systems (CPHIMS) designation is an asset
  • IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL), Project Management Professions (PMO) and/or organizational change management certification is an asset
  • Project Management experience in a complex health care organizational environment preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of health care issues
  • Knowledge and skills in the areas of Project Management methodologies, IM/IT tools, applications and systems of support
  • Experience in leading teams of staff with indirect accountabilities to other operational units
  • Ability to influence and collaborate with diverse stakeholders
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to develop and establish financial policies and procedures
  • Clearly communicates the NSHA vision, mission and values
  • Experience in working with patient care leaders
  • Competencies in other languages preferred, French an asset

Compensation and Incentives

$41.48 - $51.85 Hourly
