About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Finance Manager of Case Costing, Master Data and MIS, the Analyst SAP/MIS is responsible to provide analytical and technical support to the SAP/MIS reporting activities. In addition, to participate in the development of reporting and analytical tools by gaining an understanding of the users’ needs and developing solutions to meet those needs.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Responsible for SAP Master Data for Nova Scotia Health and IWK Health, including creation, configuration, and maintenance (Cost Centers, Key Figures) Statistical
- Related testing for SAP support packs, year-end rollover, integrated SAP testing across Finance modules and troubleshooting SAP issues.
- Review and provide MIS/SAP requirements on cost center requests/cost center changes
- Assist in the development of process efficiencies, including the introduction of new tools (like Smartsheets, Precisely)
- Running and developing reports in SAP and other financial tools (Finance EDW with Excel / Tableau)
- Develop Cost Center Audits to investigate, validate and correct cost center attributes (for example: locking unused cost centers).
- Ensure the ongoing cost center compliance with CIHI’s MIS Standards, as mandated by Nova Scotia’s Department of Health & Wellness
- Support the annual MIS year-end reporting and analytical activities
- Development of routine and ad-hoc indicator reports using SAP Business Intelligence, the configuration of enhancements, reporting changes, testing, and troubleshooting
- Create training/documentation to assist NSHA/IWK end users as required for system changes, which result from upgrades, policy/procedure/standards changes and other issues needing system changes
- Build and cultivate strong working relationships within the finance portfolio and across zones at all levels of leadership to educate and mentor staff on SAP configuration standards and requirements
- Contributes to the overall effectiveness of the NSHA through involvement in projects and working groups
NOTE: There could be changes to duties as a result of the implementation of SAP S4 HANA in April 2025.
This position utilizes a hybrid workplace model that combines working from home with working onsite. Candidates can live and work from anywhere in the province, with travel required only as necessary.
About You
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
- Graduate of a recognized post-secondary business, information technology, or health informatics program required, Undergraduate degree preferred
- Minimum three (3) years of strong functional system experience required
- Possesses a solid understanding of the finance processes and key performance indicators
- Ability to prioritize workload, meet deadlines, and work effectively under pressure with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong analytical, problem solving and conceptual thinking skills
- Knowledgeable of SAP functionality
- Highly knowledgeable and proficient with Microsoft Excel
- Excellent collaboration as well as verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledgeable of CIHI’s MIS Standards an asset
- Knowledge of Precisely (Winshuttle), Smartsheet, SQL, database management, or visualization tools considered an asset
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Compensation and Benefits
$33.14 - $41.42 Hourly
