About the Opportunity
Reporting to and in collaboration with the Renal Program Health Services Manager, the Renal Program Assistant Manager is responsible for day-to-day operations of the Western Zone Dialysis Program including responsibility for staffing, attendance management, performance appraisals, scheduling, payroll, selection of new staff and projects supporting clinical operations. The Renal Program Assistant Manager keeps the Health Service Manager aware and up-to-date of any significant events. The Renal Program Assistant Manager plans, co-ordinates and participates in quality improvement, patient safety, Accreditation and ROP compliance, standardization and promotion of home therapies. The Renal Program Assistant Manager acts as a role model and patient safety advocate and exhibits team building, mentorship and leadership skills. The Renal Program Assistant Manager demonstrates effective communication and organizational skills and acts as a resource for all team members related to the areas of responsibility.
About You
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
- Bachelor of Nursing or acceptable equivalent program
- Current registration with the Nova Scotia College of Nurses (NSCN)
- 2 years related clinical experience (hemodialysis)
- Current BLS-C
- Clinical specialty certification, C Neph(C) preferred
- Demonstrated leadership skills working within an interdisciplinary team environment
- Previous leadership experience an asset
- Must have a high degree of expertise in interpersonal skills, professional development, and informational roles to perform a wide variety of technical, human, conceptual, leadership and financial management functions and behaviours
- Exhibits creative problem-solving ability
- Demonstrates high degrees of independent decision-making, creativity, self-direction, motivation
- Ability to work in a constant changing environment that requires adaptability and flexibility
- Knowledge of safe patient culture
- Knowledge of Accreditation standards and ROPs preferred
- Quality improvement and monitoring knowledge and experience preferred
- Change management knowledge, and team building/leadership skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with other disciplines and committees
- Facilitation and conflict resolution skills
- Commitment to Leadership Skills development
- Highly organized and efficient, able to set priorities and be adaptable and flexible
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Understands the scope of practice for both RNs and LPNs
- Role model for all staff and promotes evidence-based practice

Hours
Long assignment, full-time position, 75 hrs bi-weekly

Compensation and Benefits
$40.15 - $53.35 Hourly
