About the Opportunity

The Northern Zone Pharmacist Team Leader, reporting to the Pharmacy Director, is a key member of the pharmacy leadership team. The Team Leader serves as a professional practice leader, educator, and mentor. Other activities include but are not limited to: developing standards of practice in collaboration with the NZ Pharmacy Leadership team, developing and managing pharmacy practice projects, leading Accreditation related projects and activities; policy and SOP development and review; leading Quality Improvement Projects/Research; completing audits related to clinical activities or medication safety; SIMS (Safety Improvement and Management System) file review and analysis; facilitating change management among the interdisciplinary teams; SBAR and business case development; completion of drug utilization reviews; supports orientation and training of new staff; direct patient care activities in all three regional hospital sites.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or an entry level Pharmacy Doctor of Pharmacy from a CCAPP (or similar standard) accredited university required
  • Minimum two years’ experience in clinical practice in a hospital pharmacy setting required
  • Completion of a Pharmacy Residency Program is considered an asset
  • Licensed to practice Pharmacy in the Province of Nova Scotia
  • Experience in managing and motivating staff
  • Experience giving formal presentations
  • Previous experience developing and implementing innovative practice models and practice related research; mentoring and leading pharmacy team and individual practice development in both existing practice and expanded scope of practice roles for pharmacists and pharmacy technicians; leading pharmacy related research/quality improvement projects for the regional sites and/or zone; SIMS file review and analysis; SBAR and business case development is an asset.

  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours

  • Permanent / 100% FTE / 75 Hours Bi-weekly 
  • "home site location" is flexible, based on the successful candidate's location of residence

Compensation and Benefits

$51.67 - $62.16 Hourly
