Responsibilities

 

Utility Worker

Assist supervisory and skilled food service personnel in the preparation and serving of food for patients, staff and visitors. * Grade 12 education or demonstrated skills and/or relevant work experience, equivalency must be clearly stated in your cover letter and resume, Food Safety and Sanitation Course required or willingness to obtain upon 6 months of hire.

 

Cook’s Helper

The Cook’s Helper is responsible for the safe preparation of food for clients, using basic food preparation and reheating of some menu items and responsible for serving of food as required, in accordance with the menu guidelines and therapeutic restrictions. * Grade 12 education required, Food Safety and Sanitation Course required or willingness to obtain within six months, one (1) year related experience required

 

Cook II

The Cook plans, organizes and participates in the preparation and service of food in accordance with daily menu for residents, adult day clientele, staff and caterings. * Grade 12 education required, Food Safety/Food Handlers Course required or willing to obtain within six (6) months of hire, minimum one (1) year recent cooking experience required

 

Senior Cook 

The is responsible for ensuring that patients receive appropriate food based on required standards within the dietary department.  Food preparation and production functions are in accordance to established objectives and policies. *Grade 12 education required, Journeyperson Certificate required, Food Safety/Food Handlers Course required or willing to obtain within six (6) months of hire, minimum one (1) year recent cooking experience required

Salary Information

 

Utility Worker: $19.26 - $20.02 hourly 

 

Cook’s Helper: $21.60 - $24.00 hourly

 

Cook II: $21.60 - $24.00 hourly

 

Senior Cook: $23.45 - $26.21 hourly
