About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Vice President, Zone Operations in the northern zone, and working closely with the Zone Medical Lead, the Executive Director Health Services is responsible for the strategy, management, integration, and leadership of clinical and program operations for designated facilities within the management zone. This role will lead the development, implementation, evaluation, and monitoring of operational plans which allow the Management Zone to deliver safe and high-quality care. This position is accountable to lead in alignment with Operational Excellence, including developing high-performing teams and utilizing resources in an efficient and sustainable manner. The Executive Director also promotes and supports the clinical, research, and academic mandates of Nova Scotia Health within their sites.
The Executive Director is the primary link to the Foundation, Auxiliaries, and community partners within their respective locations. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, supporting coordination and integration of designated programs, leading services and operations in collaboration with Vice President, to support operational issues that arise including clinical, quality, facility-based, capital equipment planning, procurement, and contracts.
This position requires visible leadership presence in multiple sites, the ability to ensure all sites are aligned with Operational Excellence and the integration of services across multiple sites.
The successful candidate will be required to ensure safe, high-quality care by building relationships with clinical partners and physicians while leading change initiatives. Collaboration and partnerships are the key to success within this role.
Travel within the zone will be required.
About You
- Post-secondary education in a health discipline required
- Master’s degree in health or public administration field or related field preferred
- Registration with relevant health or professional discipline/college or association required
- Certified Health Executive designation is an asset
- 7 years of relevant senior leadership experience with progressive accountabilities for financial, strategic and people management to deliver high-quality services within a complex, integrated service model provided throughout several locations with multiple partners and stakeholders
- Excellence in leadership, relationship building, organizational and decision skills in support of patient, family and client centred services
- Expert knowledge to critically analyze evidence-based practices to inform strategy development and organizational planning
- Ability to build and maintain collaborative working relationships and partnerships with stakeholders
- Understanding of the principles of project management and demonstrated ability to create and lead complex work teams
- Ability to monitor and report on financial planning and oversee resource allocation decisions, ensuring transparency, equity and alignment with strategic priorities
- Strong presentation and public speaking skills which are responsive to audience needs
- Advanced communications skills/positive energetic public persona
- Collaboration, negotiation and persuasion skills are paramount as this role requires the engagement of internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to analyze and interpret statistical data and monitor quality and performance indicators and benchmarks

Compensation and Benefits
$77.6056 - $97.1567 hourly ($151,330 - $189,461 annually)
