About the Opportunity
Reporting to Health Services Manager and in collaboration with the Director of Health Services/Site Lead, the Assistant Manager provides clinical and professional leadership. The Assistant Manager participates in the planning and provision of care and identifies issues that have potential or actual impact on patient care and keeps the Health Services Manager aware and up-to-date of any significant events. The Assistant Manager plans, co-ordinates and participates in the care of patients within the unit and hospital. The Assistant Manager acts as a role model and patient care advocate and exhibits team building and leadership skills. The Assistant Manager demonstrates effective communication and organizational skills and acts as a resource for all team members and ensures quality care is provided in a family centered manner.
About You
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
- Bachelor’s Degree in health-related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Current registration with the relevant health discipline college/association
- Five (5) years recent clinical experience with preference given to those who have pre-intra-post operative care experience.
- Progressive leadership and/or supervisory experience
- Demonstrated leadership skills in a healthcare environment and ongoing professional development
- Evidence of commitment to a healthy workplace and the use of best practices in building/sustaining staff competencies, ensuring good communication and involvement of staff and clients/residents in decisions which affect them
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective collaborative relationships and partnerships with stakeholders and clients
- Strong human resource management, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Ability to work within Microsoft Office
- Demonstrated organizational skills and a high degree of initiative and self-motivation are required
- Flexibility and creativity are required to meet the challenges in a dynamically changing environment
- Excellent organizational, time management and problem-solving skills
- Evidence of the ability to understand and apply the principles of knowledge exchange and change management to support change within the service
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the position
- Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement and enhanced customer service
- Demonstrated utilization of evidence to inform practice
- Ability to identify and report budgetary pressures to the manager and assist the manager in identifying mitigation strategies to keep spending within budget

Hours
- Long Assignment Full-Time (100%) position, 75 Hours Bi-Weekly
- Beginning as soon as possible, with an expected end date of June 2026. (18 month assignment)

Compensation and Benefits
$40.15 - $53.35 Hourly
