About the Opportunity
The Administrative Assistant provides office managerial support to both the Health Services Manager - Women's and Children's Health Unit and Health Services Manager - Inpatient Surgical Unit within Colchester East Hants Health Centre. The incumbent functions as a primary point of contact for both Managers in responding to general information requests related to the office or referring calls to others as appropriate. Provides confidential administrative service with high quality of organizational and communication skills to assist and support the Manager in ensuring the effective and efficient operation of the office on a daily basis.
About You
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
- Graduate of a recognized office administration program/business program/secretarial program
- Three (3) to five (5) years of administrative experience OR a combination of equivalent education, training, and experience
- Thorough knowledge of all aspects of their department, its policies and procedures, as well a general knowledge of institutional policies and procedures, healthcare legislation, collective agreements and other portfolio's services provided within Nova Scotia Health
- Advanced working knowledge of computers required, including Windows, Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook and Database Programs
- Experience taking and producing minutes an asset
- High degree of initiative, diligence, attention to detail and self-discipline/focus required
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision required
- Proven team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills required
- Demonstrated ability to respectfully work with a variety of inter-professional team members required
- The incumbent maintains an awareness of internal and external issues that may impact on the department/organization
- Well-developed abilities and skills in all facets of modern office practices and technology and with information and meeting technologies
- Works effectively during periods of high activity and with varying personality styles and tasks
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, prioritizing and organizational skills
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Compensation and Benefits
$22.34 - $27.93 Hourly
