About the Opportunity

As part of the Facility Management and Support Team, reporting to Assistant Manager of Maintenance and Operations, the Supervisor of Physical Plant will provide leadership in all aspects of the physical plant including auxiliary power engineers. The Supervisor of the physical plant contributes to a safe, comfortable, functional and positive environment for patients, staff and visitors.  The Supervisor will have responsibility for the leadership, supervision, support and evaluation of power engineers at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, as well as hold the Chief Engineer’s position for the high-pressure steam and refrigeration plant.  Responsibilities will include leave coverage for Assistant Managers within the Eastern Zone.  The Supervisor will participate in various committees such as Emergency Planning, OHSC, etc.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Second Class Power Engineer’s Certificate from Nova Scotia Department of Labour, Inter-provincial status, or must be able to attain within 6 months
  • 5 years management experience in a fast-paced, unionized, complex organization.
  • Experience and demonstrated skills in decision making, human resource management, policy development and financial administration.
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours

  • Permanent, full-time position; 75 hours bi-weekly

Compensation and Benefits

$35.27 - $44.09 Hourly
