About the Opportunity

 

This role offers the opportunity to support developing, implementing, and evaluating innovative research initiatives to improve patient care, healthcare systems, and health outcomes. The Research Associate contributes to a variety of health research studies or divisions by assisting with study administration and preparing research proposal drafts and associated budgets, undertaking literature reviews, searching for funding opportunities, preparing grant submissions, drafting reports and manuscripts, preparing documents for ethics approval, and providing leadership and delegating to Research Assistants as necessary. In this role, the research associate will implement research studies, ensuring adherence to ethical guidelines, study protocols, and compliance with healthcare regulations. The Research Associate will also engage with patients, families, and caregivers (where appropriate) to collect qualitative or quantitative data for studies.

 

About You


We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in a health sciences or social sciences discipline (e.g. psychology, epidemiology, community/public health) and combined 3 years of research experience required
  • Master's degree in a health sciences or social sciences discipline (e.g. psychology, epidemiology, community/public health) and minimum of 2 years research experience as asset
  • Minimum of two years research experience required
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Adobe Acrobat, email and internet
  • Familiarity with qualitative/quantitative analysis software package such as NVivo, SAS, R an asset
  • Familiarly with reference manager program (Zotero) an asset
  • Familiarity with health research
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Outstanding attention to detail
  • Strong report writing skills
  • Effective interpersonal, communication and teaching skills
  • Demonstrated time management and organizational skills
  • Effective research and analytical thinking skills
  • Strong negotiation, conflict resolution and rapport-building skills

Hours

 

Full-time, long assignment (75 hours bi-weekly)
9-month assignment, starting as soon as possible
This role requires you to be onsite and is based in Sydney, Nova Scotia

Compensation and Benefits

 

$28.59 - $35.74 Hourly

$55,762.01- $69,702.36 Annually
