About the Opportunity

As part of an inter-professional team, the PTA works effectively to provide optimal physiotherapy care and to assist the patient in achieving their physiotherapy goals. The PTA motivates and encourages the patient to meet their expected outcomes by contributing to the valuation, implementation and ongoing modification of the patient's physiotherapy program and by participating in the provision of holistic and comprehensive physiotherapy care. PTAs can complete standardized outcome measures as part of the physiotherapist's assessment and implement assigned physiotherapy treatment plans, in alignment with national and provincial physiotherapy standards. The PTA is responsible to communicate frequently with the physiotherapist and to obtain the relevant information to provide safe accountable care. The PTA incorporates critical thinking, effective communication, and formal education to deliver high quality of care to patients.
