About the Opportunity
The Mental Health and Addictions Manager is responsible for planning, developing, implementing, supervising and evaluating the Withdrawal management across the continuum and Recovery Support HUBs, Mental Health and Addictions program, EZ. The position monitors clinical service delivery on a day-to-day basis to ensure service provision is in accordance with Nova Scotia Health Authority’s policies and procedures and is compliant with evidence-based practice, provincial standards, and accreditation requirements. Working closely with the Zone Director, Chief of Psychiatry, MHA Managers, and all other relevant staff, physician, and academic leaders, the Manager provides strategic and operational leadership that supports excellence in service delivery, integration of mental health and addiction service provision, and collaboration with other program and service areas.
Please note the role supports CBRH Unit 1A, and Recovery Support HUBS Sydney/North Sydney
About You
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
- Master’s Degree in a recognized mental health and/or addiction health discipline or related field with five (5) years’ experience in a mental health and addictions system preferred; OR Bachelor Degree in a recognized mental health and addiction discipline, with five (5) years’ experience in mental health or addictions, one of which should be in professional practice/leadership capacity and two (2) additional years’ experience in clinical practice for a total of seven (7) years’ experience.
- Registered/eligible for registration and a member in good standing of the relevant regulatory body.
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in working in the mental health and addictions field.
- Membership in the Canadian College of Health Leadership with CHE designation, or equivalent, is an asset
- Formal leadership experience in the health care field, Mental Health & Addictions preferred
- Judgment and decision making skills demonstrated through analysis and synthesis, problem solving, systems thinking and emotional intelligence.
- Demonstrated ability to define a vision and guide individuals and groups toward the vision while maintaining group cohesiveness, motivation, commitment and effectiveness.
- Management skills demonstrated through planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluating
- Ability to manage human resources/intellectual capital, financial resources, capital/material assets and information.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with evidence of their use in establishing partnerships and respectful, productive, collaborative internal/ external stakeholder relationships;
- Sound knowledge of population health and primary health care and programming related to the target population Sound knowledge of programming related to the target population
- The ability to understand and apply the principles of knowledge exchange and change management to support change within the service;
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours
- Permanent Full Time position; 75 hours bi weekly
- Travel to various sites may be required
Compensation and Benefits
$46.36 - $61.59 Hourly
