About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Manager of the Clinical Virtual Care Team, the Clinical Therapist will provide assessment, psychotherapy, group facilitation, and consultation via virtual technologies to adults.  The ability to deliver evidence-based individual and group interventions is required. As well, the incumbent will be required to work collaboratively with other service providers and community agencies in the context of providing care. The successful candidate will have training and experience delivering evidence-based interventions, in particular cognitive and behavioural therapies, for a range of disorders, including mood, anxiety, substance use, and trauma-related disorders.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Master’s degree in a clinical health-related discipline - Master’s in social work, Psychology (Registered, Masters), Master’s in Counseling, Master’s in Nursing, Master’s in Occupational Therapy
  • Current registration with relevant provincial regulatory body
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of standard criteria used (DSM-5) for the classification and diagnosis of mental health disorders
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills in providing individual and group evidence informed therapies based on care plan to clients with mental illness, substance use disorders, and/or concurrent disorders
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills in collaborating with families in relation to sharing information and implementing family-sensitive services that involve families in the care and recovery of people living mental illness and addiction
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills in crisis intervention, suicide, and violence risk assessment/intervention
  • Non-violent crisis intervention and suicide risk assessment preferred
  • Demonstrated awareness of community resources and programs
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational and prioritization skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks
  • High level of written/oral/interpersonal communication skills; experience with conflict resolution
  • Ability to work effectively in multiple software applications required
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative, work independently with limited supervision and participate as a member of a multidisciplinary team
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

 

Two (2) years related clinical experience (including assessment and planning, treatment and intervention and discharge planning) is required. If not available, candidates with less than two (2) years’ experience may be considered for the selection process. If offered employment, they will be placed on the Clinical Therapist (Dev) HTH130 scale

Hours

  • Permanent Full-Time Position; 75 hours biweekly
  • This position can be filled by a candidate in any part of the province, constituent union will be determined at the time of hire 

Compensation and Benefits

 

Clinical Therapist
$37.31 - $49.04 hourly
 
Clinical Therapist (Developmental) 
$33.27 - $42.01 hourly
