About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Director of Pharmacy the Clinical Pharmacy Coordinator is a key member of the pharmacy leadership team and fulfills several roles, including an administrative component, both internally to the Pharmacy Department and to individual teams. The Clinical Pharmacy Coordinator has an advanced practice role in the provision of geriatric patient care, functioning as a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist within the Pharmacy and interdisciplinary teams; serves as a professional practice leader, educator, and mentor within the Eastern Zone; develops standards of practice; conducts research; contributes to the literature and acts as a clinical resource to other organizations.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD): Minimum of two years of recent active, advanced clinical practice in an institutional environment, or formal training as an advanced practice pharmacist in a therapeutic specialty (e.g., post-PharmD specialty residency) is required or M.Sc., PhD and minimum of five years recent active, advanced clinical practice in an institutional environment is required
  • Eligible for licensure with the Nova Scotia College of Pharmacists as an Active Practice Pharmacist
  • Work collaboratively with the Cape Breton University Centre of Excellence for Healthy Aging
  • Advanced clinical skills – patient assessment, drug therapy assessment, drug information
  • Advanced communication skills – written and verbal
  • Mentoring undergraduate (pharmacy, medicine) students, post-graduate students (pharmacy, medicine, nurse practitioner), pharmacy staff (direct patient care pharmacists), other health care professionals
  • Advanced critical appraisal skills in review of drug literature
  • Advanced research skills for the safe and ethical conduct of clinical and epidemiologic research
  • Board Certification in Geriatric Pharmacology an asset.
  • Competencies in other languages an asset; French preferred

Hours

  • Permanent, Full-Time; 75 Hours Bi-weekly 

Compensation and Benefits

$51.14 - $67.95 Hourly
