About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Manager, Mental Health & Addictions or designate, the Secretary is responsible for a wide variety of secretarial duties and functions within Mental Health & Addictions, including, but not limited to, reception and telephone, computer applications, typing and transcription, management/staff/program support, client and community contacts, documentation and records management, research support, program administration and general office duties, including payroll administration as required.
The Secretary exhibits sound judgment and initiative while working within the philosophy, objectives, guidelines, legislations, policies and procedures, Mission, Vision and Strategic Direction of Mental Health & Addictions and incorporates into daily practice the Core Competencies and Values of the organization.
About You
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
- Grade XII plus successful completion of a recognized secretarial program and a medical terminology course
* Minimum two years’ experience in a responsible secretarial position in a health-related field
* Computer proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook), Meditech, and Community-Wide Scheduling, with the ability to acquire additional skills
* Accurate keyboarding skills with a minimum speed of 45 wpm with a maximum five (5) percent error rate
* Superior organizational, communication (listening, oral and written) and interpersonal skills
* Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
* Ability to work independently as well as demonstrated ability to work cooperatively in a multi-disciplinary team environment
* Ability to be flexible in adapting to changing operational requirements
* Ability to demonstrate sound judgment and initiative
* Ability to deal calmly and tactfully with stressful situations
* Ability to develop and maintain professional interpersonal relationships with all levels of staff and clients
* Commitment to promoting a culture of respect that supports safety, ethical practices, cultural awareness and organizational health
* Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

$20.25 - $22.50 hourly
