Responsibilities
Reporting to the Manager of Health Information Services, the Admitting Clerk II is responsible for the total communication system for the hospital by providing prompt and courteous responses to all methods of communication. (This position consists of 8 and 12 hour rotating shifts including weekends and holidays.) Cross training with Registration and Admitting, including scanning is required.
Qualifications
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- Completion of a recognized office procedure/secretarial program, or applicable experience is required.
- Demonstrated skills and experience with Windows and Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and, Outlook and Explorer, as well as Mainframe computer experience is required.
- Graduate of an approved Medical Terminology program is required.
- Related hospital exposure in an applicable setting required.
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks required.
- Demonstrated skill in working collaboratively and effectively with others.
- Ability and willingness to meet challenges and adapt to changing situations essential.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills required.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered for this position.
- Competencies in other languages an asset; French preferred.
