Responsibilities

Reporting to the Food Services Supervisor, the Utility Worker assists supervisory and skilled food service personnel in the preparation and serving of food for patients, staff and visitors.

Qualifications

  • High School Graduation or equivalent required
  • Recognized Food Safety and Sanitation Course required or willingness to obtain within six (6) months
  • Food service experience preferred
  • Ability to interact professionally with patients, families, other health care providers and staff with a pleasant and cooperative attitude.
  • Physical and mental capabilities to perform the duties of the position which include: lifting and standing for long periods as well as working flexible hours and dealing with stressful situations
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions required
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in all matters pertaining to patients, staff, and the DHA is required
  • Demonstrated ability to function well as a team member required
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressures of time limitations is required
  • Data entry skills considered an asset
  • Ability and availability to work all shifts including weekend and rotating shifts
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered for this position
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

$17.09 - $17.80 hourly
