About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Health Services Manager, the Kinesiologist is responsible for development, implementation, and continuous quality improvement of program components - particularly in exercise, physical activity, and healthy lifestyle counselling – that aims to optimize healthy lifestyle choices, health promotion, and chronic disease prevention/management in an oupatient and a community setting.
The Kinesiologist assesses clients with a wide range of risk factors, chronic conditions, and limitations. Person and family centered interventions are developed using exercise, health education/wellness learning programs, and behavior change and self-management principles.
About You
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
- Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology from an accredited university
- Minimum of two years’ experience in physical activity/exercise and lifestyle education, testing, instruction, and programming
- Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology Certified Exercise Physiologist (CSEP-CEP) and /or American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) Exercise Specialist Certification required
- Advanced knowledge, skills, and proficiency in the areas of exercise physiology, aging, nutrition, etc.
- Experience with individual and group education and facilitation utilizing adult education and motivational enhancement principals
- Demonstrates person centered/family focused, diversity relevant and population heath approaches to care
- Well-developed interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
- Demonstrates flexibility, adaptability, and willingness to change
- Demonstrates innovation in program planning, implementation, and evaluation
- Demonstrates strong partnership, collaboration, and community development skills
- Demonstrates quality improvement planning skills

Hours
- Long Assignment, Full-time position; 75 hours bi-weekly
- This position is approximately 14 months in length
Compensation and Benefits
$32.55 - $38.94 hourly
Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
