About Our Nurse Practitioners
Come for a short time or stay for a while! We are recruiting Nurse Practitioners to be a part of our Emergency Department team, serving Middleton and surrounding communities.
About the Opportunity
The Locum Program is focused on specific assignment opportunities for short term periods to address high staffing needs at Soldier's Memorial Hospital.
The Nurse Practitioner (NP) will provide direct, comprehensive clinical care to patients in the Emergency Department (ED). The NP works autonomously to diagnose, order and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe pharmaceuticals and perform procedures within the legislated scope of practice and where required, a defined collaborative practice agreement, to provide care to a defined population. The NP provides direct care and partners with other members of the health care team for the achievement of immediate care to patients. Working in collaboration with a physician, the NP assess the physical needs of highly acute complex patients admitted to the ED. The NP orders, interprets, and records results of clinical tests and reports results to physicians.
The NP integrates selected tasks and knowledge from the NSHA Emergency Program of Care into a framework of advanced nursing practice. The NP works in close collaboration with Emergency Department Physician, nursing and interdisciplinary team.
