About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Supply Chain Logistics Manager, the Stores Clerk assists in the organization, coordination and control and delivery of inventories and supplies in support of health care services throughout Western Nova Scotia. Duties may occasionally include distribution of supplies to other sites in Western Nova Scotia.
The Stores Clerk ensures that the principles and practices that guide our work such as the mission, vision, values, expected behaviors, the leadership philosophy, organizational health, population health, ethics, safety, quality, partnerships and inter professional collaboration are integrated within the services they provide and through the messages they deliver.
About You
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- Willingness to participate in ongoing education programs
- Working knowledge and proficiency with a variety of computer software and programs
- Demonstrated planning, organizational, priority setting skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work in a self-directed environment and also effectively within an interdisciplinary team
- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills as well as leadership skills
- Working knowledge of the SAP computer system is preferred
- Previous experience in a central stores/purchasing environment preferred
- Knowledge of inventory control preferred
- Demonstrated working knowledge of and current relevant experience with computer
- Demonstrated understanding of the role of Materials Management Service in the delivery of patient care and understanding of how errors may affect medical treatment and cause financial loss
- The ability to travel to multiple Nova Scotia Health facilities within Western Zone for Supply Chain related responsibilities
- Travel to other sites required
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
