Responsibilities

Reporting to the Assistive Technology (AT) Program Manager,  the AT Team Lead provides leadership, innovation and support to the Assistive Technology Department (primarily the Orthotics, Prosthetics and Pedorthics areas)   with the goal of developing, managing, monitoring and evaluating clinical processes, production and workflow to meet clinical outcomes, service and production standards.   The AT Team Lead, in collaboration with the Manager, is responsible for developing, implementing and supporting the patient and workflow tracking system, ensuring patient throughput occurs in a timely manner and staff workload is balanced to achieve optimal quality and productivity. The AT Team Lead acts as a mentor and coach for peers, staff and learners and develops, implements and evaluates strategies to address program/unit/team specific learning and best practices and assists in bridging any identified learning needs or gaps in practice.

 

The AT Team Lead works closely with the program manager, professional practice coordinators, managers, physicians, referrers, patients, staff and other stakeholders to ensure timely, coordinated quality care is provided to the patients and families and any products dispensed through the department are meet criteria for production quality, timeliness and appropriateness. 

 

Qualifications

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree, typically in the health sciences related to Rehabilitation
  • Registered or Certified in good standing with a professional organization such as Orthotics Prosthetics Canada or College of Pedorthics of Canada
  • Professional training in an AT health profession and registration in good standing with the appropriate professional college or credentialing organization
  • Three to five years of clinical experience ideally in a hospital setting required
  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of Assistive Technologies
  • Lean Six Sigma Training, preferred
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered by the employer
  • Demonstrate success in collaborating with others

 

Additional qualifications

  • Project Management experience
  • Leadership qualities such as ability to engage and motivate others,  self-awareness, negotiation and conflict resolution skills
  • Strong problem-solving , change management and clinical reasoning skills
  • Superior level of communication
  • Demonstrate sound judgement, common sense, flexibility and compassion
  • Understanding and appreciation of high quality, innovative, efficient services
  • Understanding of privacy and confidentiality legislation, policies and practices and understanding of infection control procedures
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred.

Hours of Work

  • Permanent, Part-time (50%) position; 37.5 hours bi-weekly

 

Salary Information

$38.07 - $46.36 hourly
