About the Opportunity
The Systems Lead, Primary Health Care is a member of the Primary Health Care and Chronic Disease Management Network [Network] leadership team and is responsible for advancing strategic and operational priorities of the portfolio. The Systems Lead has a responsibility for leading the overall coordination of the planning, system/service design and implementation of strategic initiatives and network activities assigned under the direction of the Manager, Planning & Development. This position is responsible to lead self and oversee strategic change projects and initiatives, in collaboration with Network members and identified corporate services which will achieve results that facilitate system transformation and support advancement of integrated, safe, high quality and sustainable primary health care programs and services across Nova Scotia.
This position works according to the mission, vision, values and policies of NS Health Authority and supports a provincial approach to planning and development, ensuring community adaptation. The Systems Lead plays the role of connector, co-designer and capacity builder. The System Lead works closely with Network team members and various internal and external stakeholders to advance PHC and Network priorities. The position will provide support across all of the Network functions using an evidence-based approach to planning and implementation that supports planning and design of PHC system and services, excellence in care delivery, supporting Zone leadership to achieve health outcomes, system standards and goals established by the Network.
Working in a collaborative model with Network members including Zone leadership, system partners, providers and care teams, public, government departments, academic and others, the Systems Lead is responsible for actively developing consultative and collaborative partnerships with diverse stakeholders to enable and support Network priorities as assigned. This position will demonstrate strong background and knowledge of the health care system, integration, system design, quality improvement, implementation science and the delivery of effective change management processes and practices.
Location is flexible within the province.
About You
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in a health or management related discipline
- Minimum of 3-5 years recent and related leadership experience preferably in a health care setting
- Master’s Degree in a health related discipline, health administration, business administration or related subject considered an asset
- Eligible for registration with relevant health discipline/college or association is an asset
- Certification or additional training in Quality Improvement, Design Thinking, Project Management and/or Change Management an asset
- Demonstrated knowledge of primary health care, health promotion, health determinants, and dynamics of health needs in a rural community.
- Demonstrated exceptional interpersonal and communication (oral, written and presentation) skills
- Demonstrated experience in program development, project management, implementation, monitoring and evaluation.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective collaborative relationships and partnerships with stakeholders and clients, including physicians and stakeholders across multiple governance structures
- Demonstrated self-motivation, self-direction, leadership, team development, organizational and facilitation skills.
- Commitment to promoting a culture of respect that supports safety, ethical practices, cultural awareness and organizational health.
- Strong human resource management, financial management, interpersonal, and communication skills
About You Continued
- Excellent organizational, time management and problem-solving skills.
- Evidence of the ability to understand and apply the principles of knowledge exchange and change management to support change within the service.
- Excellent report writing and presentation skills, application of word processing, spreadsheet, database, presentation and graphics software required, and experience in project management and program evaluation an asset.
- Ability to effectively organize heavy workload with multiple competing priorities.
- Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation
Hours
- Permanent Full-time /75 Hours Bi-weekly
- Shifts may include evenings, weekends and holidays
Compensation and Benefits
$40.15 - $ 50.18 Hourly
