About the Opportunity
The Nova Scotia Health Ambassador serves as a representative of Nova Scotia Health, promoting health initiatives, providing information and support to the community, and fostering positive relationships with stakeholders. This role plays a crucial part in enhancing public awareness of health-related issues, advocating for healthy lifestyles, facilitating access to healthcare services, and supporting use and awareness of YourHealthNS.ca and its app.
About You
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
- Current post-secondary student.
- Post secondary studies in health-related professions will be considered an asset
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
In addition, to be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following skills:
- Clear Communication: Be able to talk to people of all backgrounds about health topics in a way that's easy to understand. You’ll be the bridge between Nova Scotia Health, YourHealthNS and the community; helping people access resources and understand services.
- Event Planning and Participation: Have fun with organizing and taking part in community events, health fairs, and workshops and other ways to meet your local community and share YourHealthNS with them. You'll help set things up, make them interesting, and share learning about the YourHealthNS app and other Nova Scotia Health information, care, and services.
- Research Skills: Be curious and ready to learn! This role will involve learning about different communities and their health challenges, and demonstrating use of both and app and website.
- Professionalism and Respect: Show a positive attitude, be respectful, and support Nova Scotia Health in continuing to build trust with the community. You’ll be the face of the organization for a lot of people!
- Team Collaboration: Work well with others and share what you learn. This role is all about teamwork and supporting each other to make a bigger impact.
- Flexibility and Adaptability: Be ready to jump in and help with whatever is needed. Sometimes things change quickly, and being adaptable will make you a valuable team member.
