About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Zone Manager, Maintenance and Operations or delegate the Steamfitter maintains and repairs mechanical systems and related equipment within the Nova Scotia Health. This includes all steam, water, and sanitation systems. The Steamfitter will be required to abide by the policies and procedures as laid down by Nova Scotia Health and pertinent codes, and is required to maintain record keeping in relation to duties including work orders, material requisitions, and inspection forms, etc. This role will have responsibilities in both the Halifax Infirmary and Victoria General sites.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Certified Journeyperson Steamfitter/Pipefitter
  • 3 years experience in a commercial environment
  • Demonstrated communication and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. 
  • Travel to other Central Zone sites may be required and must have access to reliable transportation
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours

  • Permanent, full-time position; 75 hours bi-weekly

Compensation and Benefits

$27.44 - $32.65 Hourly

Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.

This position is currently eligible for a Market Adjustment of approximately $170.62 biweekly. Eligibility for a Market Adjustment is reviewed periodically.
