About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Health Services Manager, the Senior Tissue Bank Technician is responsible for the execution of the day-to-day support operations within the Regional Tissue Bank. Areas of responsibility include procurement, processing of procured allograft tissue for surgical transplantation, storage and distribution of processed allograft tissues, laboratory maintenance and monitoring, supply/inventory monitoring, and support to the Legacy of Life organ donation program. Tissue Bank Technicians work as an integral part of the overall Tissue Bank team, supporting every aspect pertaining to quality assurance, quality control, documentation, training and evaluation, public and professional education, and information management. The Senior Technician will also lead training for the Technician group, as well as monitor quality aspects of daily duties and operations in conjunction with the Team Leads.
About You
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
- Two-year Health/Science diploma program
- Completion of the in-house Tissue Bank Technician training program (6 months) is required
- 2 years of previous Tissue Bank experience/training is required
- Knowledge of the interdepartmental organization, functions, and policies as they relate to transplantation.
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
A skill test may be included as part of the selection process.

Hours
- Permanent full-time position; 75 hours bi-weekly
Compensation and Benefits
$29.05 - $31.97 Hourly
