About the Opportunity

Under the direction of the Manager, Healthcare Financial Advisory Services, the Senior Financial Analyst will be assigned accountability for complex and strategic initiatives requiring coordination amongst project team members and engagement with leaders across Nova Scotia Health and BuildNS. The Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for providing financial leadership and support to project team members and Nova Scotia Health leaders throughout the planning, construction and implementation of major capital infrastructure projects within the province. Responsibilities include developing multi-year financial proposals, preparing project forecasts, reporting and monitoring project expenditures, ensuring adherence to standard policies and processes, ad hoc requests, variance analysis, and preparing monthly financial reports. The Senior Financial Analyst provides proactive expertise and advice in conducting analysis and developing recommendations to support business decision making, improve performance, and reduce risks. 

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

 

•    Graduate of a recognized post-secondary business and/or accounting program required (Undergraduate degree required)
•    Enrolment or completion of CPA designation considered an asset
•    Minimum five (5) years strong management and/or functional system experience and knowledge of budget, corporate reporting, general accounting, financial analytics required. 
•    Excellent collaboration, verbal and written communication skills
•    Strong analytical, problem solving and conceptual thinking skills
•    Comprehensive knowledge of finance and Payroll practices, government legislation 
•    Highly knowledgeable of SAP functionality for both Finance and Payroll processes. Highly knowledgeable of technical aspects of SAP and how they relate to or impact the business process.
•    Ability to prioritize workload, meet deadlines, and work effectively under pressure with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
•    Demonstrated ability to create and maintain excellent customer service
•    Demonstrated ability to build and manage relationships
•    Strong analytical skills
•    Efficiently delegates issues to the team members
•    Competencies in other languages an asset

Hours

  • Permanent, full-time position, 75 hours biweekly

Compensation and Benefits

$39.29 - $49.12 Hourly

Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
