About the Opportunity

The IM/IT Sr. Business Analyst (BA), reports to an IM/IT Operations Manager, Health Information/Document Management and the IMIT Provincial Manager, Health Information/Document Management, and is responsible for the evaluation, design, testing, implementation, maintenance, and support of clinical documentation (forms) and technology solutions, projects and services across NSH, IWK and its many external clients. The IM/IT Sr. BA collaborates with key clinical and business stakeholders for NSHealth and IWK, in partnership with the province’s Internal Services Department and the Department of Health and Wellness, moves towards the rationalization of disparate systems and the OPOR strategy.

 

The IM/IT Sr. BA will be committed to a high standard of performance and will provide support across the organization to leverage IT applications aligned with NSHealth, IWK and it's client's strategic, mission, vision and goals. The IM/IT Sr. BA performs a variety of tasks, including but not limited to: evaluation of requests for change, data retrieval and optimization opportunities; troubleshooting and assisting with the resolution of errors and other system issues; development of materials and the communication of system changes to end users; and, building and maintaining all system configuration items in line with best practice and appropriate stakeholder approvals. Additionally, this position ensures that all activities within their responsible area are supported by business plan, established policies/procedures, and in line with service level agreements between NSH, IWK and the Department of Health and Wellness.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Degree or diploma in an Information Technology, Business Analysis or Health Related discipline. Consideration may be given to those with equivalent training and relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Technology, Business Analysis or Health Related field.
  • 2+ years’ experience in application programming, systems analysis, business analysis or systems support.
  • Experience and/or training with healthcare information systems and terminology an asset.
  • Certification in IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL), Project Management (PMP) and/or organizational change management an asset.
  • Experience supporting clinical application systems and related services in a complex health care organizational environment considered an asset
  • Ability to relay or explain complex issues or difficult scenarios to clinical and business staff
  • Working knowledge of basic systems principles, theories and concepts within healthcare
  • Strong knowledge of health care and technology industry best practice relating to software applications
  • Ability to solve a range of complex problems; identify innovative solutions; and, use clinical best practice knowledge of internal and/or external business issues to improve service
  • Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills

Hours

  • Permanent, Full-time Position(s); 75 Hours Bi-weekly

Compensation and Benefits

$37.61 - $47.01 Hourly
