About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Pharmacy Manager, or designate, the Secretary provides administrative/secretarial support to the interdisciplinary team. This includes all pharmacy professionals and all pharmacy management. The Secretary provides a full range of administrative support to the pharmacy team which may include but not limited to taking minutes, preparing letters, and scheduling meetings and appointments. The Secretary works collaboratively with other support staff; may be required to cover other position within clerical and admin support group, and other duties as assigned. Ensures efficient and effective administrative support for quality consumer-focused services.  Working with minimal supervision, the secretary is also responsible for collecting data, performing data entry, maintaining other relevant information as required by NShIS, Electronic Medical Record (EMR), generating statistical reports as required, and to hold in confidence all matters pertaining to clients, staff and the Pharmacy Service.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Grade XII required
  • Graduate of a recognized office administration program required
  • Certificate in medical terminology required
  • Minimum of one year recent experience in office administration required
  • Typing speed of at least 40 words per minute with accuracy
  • Computer literacy including demonstrated skills in Word, Excel and Publisher
  • Physical capabilities to perform the duties of the position such as working flexible hours, dealing with stressful situations and travelling within the District and to other areas as required
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours

  • Permanent full-time position; 70 hours biweekly 

Compensation and Benefits

$23.53 - $26.05 Hourly
