About the Opportunity

The Research Assistant contributes to the support, development and management of projects in the Geriatric Psychiatry section in the Department of Psychiatry by duties such as assisting with scoping reviews, literature reviews, study design, grant writing, administration, providing general administrative support, including ethics submission and entering, maintaining and analyzing study data.  This individual reports to the section research director about progress in current projects. 

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

 

  • Currently enrolled in (or completed) post-secondary education in a Health Science and/or Science related field required
  • Completed post-secondary education in a Health Science and/or Science related field preferred
  • Two years’ research related experience preferred
  • TCPS2: CORE Certification considered an asset
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint), email and internet
  • Proficiency with current Nova Scotia Health systems (STAR, PHS and/or LIS) an asset
  • Effective communication, problem solving and decision making skills
  • Ability to draft, format and edit office correspondence
  • Well developed organizational, time management and daily planning skills
  • Ability to work well independently as well as within a multi-disciplinary team environment
  • Previous experience in a health care/research setting is an asset
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours

  • Long assignment full-time; 75 hours bi-weekly 
  • Approximately 12 months

Compensation and Benefits

$23.34 - $29.17 hourly
