About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Renal Program Manager and working under the direction of a Registered Nurse or delegate, the Renal Assistant is responsible for assisting nursing staff with set up and dismantling of dialysis machines and equipment to facilitate efficient operation of the hemodialysis unit and acute dialysis in the Intensive Care Unit, ordering stock and special supplies to adequately stock the unit and assisting with patient care activities such as transfers, lifts and weighing patients.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Grade XII or Equivalent
  • Previous experience in dialysis and clinical/acute care setting an asset
  • Experience in a computerized environment preferred
  • Technical aptitude and mechanical inclination
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
  • WHMIS practices for acute care setting
  • Knowledge of Infection Control procedures
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours

  • Permanent, full-time position, 75 hrs bi-weekly

Compensation and Benefits

$21.43 - $23.37 Hourly
