Reporting to the Health Services Manager, the Registered Nurse (RN) utilizes the nursing process, critical thinking and problem solving skills to provide holistic care to individuals, families, groups, communities and populations across the life span. He/she is responsible for the overall coordination and direction of nursing care.


The RN provides clinical leadership particularly in complex or unpredictable patient/client care settings. This individual has the knowledge, skill and judgment needed to provide competent, evidenced based nursing practice. He/she is accountable for the development, implementation and ongoing evaluation of the plan of care to achieve patient/client outcomes.


In addition, the RN is responsible and accountable for his/her nursing practice and conduct as defined by the Nova Scotia College of Nursing and for ensuring that his/her registration is current and valid.



  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Current registration with the NSCN (or eligible)
  • Neurosurgery experience is an asset
  • IMCU experience is an asset
  • Experience with ICP monitoring, central lines and arterial lines is an asset
  • Neuroscience certification preferred
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and decision making skills
  • Demonstrated effective communication skills
  • BLS-C (HCP) certification
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Salary Information

Registered Nurse:
$34.86 - $41.31 hourly
($ hourly with 25 years of RN experience)
