About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Manager of the Regional Tissue Bank (RTB), the Tissue Bank Quality Lead provides quality leadership for the RTB Program and the services it provides, spanning donor identification, screening, retrieval/recovery, storage, processing and distribution of donated human tissue across Canada. As delegated to the role by the RTB Manager, the Quality Lead provides direct oversight for the RTB quality management system in relation to RTB’s regulatory obligations. This role promotes fundamental improvements to quality management practices thereby enhancing overall quality performance. This position strives to uphold Nova Scotia Health’s Strategic Plan and operational goals. The position will work with the multidisciplinary team to guide and implement process changes in support of quality and continuous quality improvement.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Undergraduate degree in a health specific discipline required
  • Graduate degree in appropriate field such as Quality Management, Science, Biomedical Engineering preferred and/or equivalent in education and experience
  • Certificate in quality or quality management preferred
  • Certified Tissue Bank Specialist, AATB preferred, or willingness to obtain
  • Minimum of 5 years working in a quality management system environment preferred
  • Understands quality, quality systems, and innovations in quality
  • Demonstrated ability to apply and coach others in the application of continuous quality improvement;
  • Demonstrates a high degree of independent decision making, creativity, self-direction, motivation, change
    management and team building and leadership skills
  • Excellent project management skills and ability to teach/transfer skills to all team members
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Effective presentation skills and group leadership skills
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours

  • Permanent full-time position; 75 hours bi-weekly

Compensation and Benefits

$40.95 - $51.19 Hourly
