About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Pharmacy Director, in close collaboration with the DEU Pharmacist team lead the Pharmacy Student will work with Drug Evaluation Pharmacists to develop evidence-based materials for Drug Evaluation Unit (DEU) projects.
The DEU prepares evidence-based medicine reviews to inform appropriate drug use and policy decisions. This work is used by the Nova Scotia Department of Health and Wellness and affiliated organizations such as the Atlantic Common Drug Review and the Dalhousie Academic Detailing Service, and the Nova Scotia Health Pharmacy Department.
The student will support this work by participating in the following activities:
- Medical literature searches
- Data extraction into evidence tables or standardized templates
- Calculation of statistics such as absolute risk reduction, numbers needed to treat (NNT)
- Participation in writing summaries of clinical trial data
- Participation in meetings relating to the research
About You
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
• Currently enrolled or accepted into a Pharmacy Program (Pharmacy Degree or Pharmacy Technician program)
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Effective interpersonal skills
• Basic typing skills or computer/keyboard experience; skill in Microsoft Office Suite
• Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a team
• Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

$20.50 - $22.00 hourly
