About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Health Services Director, the Health Services Manager is responsible for the planning and coordination of services and daily operations of people-centered programs within Nova Scotia Health. 


Responsibilities include:

 

  • Providing leadership and direction for VG 9A and Enterostomal Clinic to ensure the goals and objectives are continually met
  • Promoting and emphasizing people-centred care in partnership with the patient, family, and healthcare team
  • Developing, implementing and maintaining an active human resource plan including recruitment, selection, interviewing and hiring
  • Preparing and analyzing all relevant financial and clinical data, reporting trends and identifying where corrective action is required for budget variances, implementing changes as required and evaluating the effectiveness of the changes
  • Establishing and maintaining creative and efficient communication processes across clinical teams, geographically different sites, other disciplines, and other stakeholders within NSH as required
  • Managing process improvements for quality patient care and enhancing capacity
  • Representing their discipline or service/program by active and effective participation in meetings and on committee
  • Providing strategic and operational leadership that supports service delivery excellence and collaboration with other program areas.
  • Monitoring clinical service delivery on a day-to-day basis to ensure service provision is following Nova Scotia Health’s policies and procedures and is compliant with evidence-based practice, provincial standards and accreditation requirements

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

 

  • Baccalaureate degree from a health discipline
  • Master's degree an asset
  • Must be registered with the relevant health discipline college/association
  • Five to seven years of relevant clinical experience
  • Previous leadership/management experience an asset
  • Experience and expertise in process planning and redesign work
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of issues and trends impacting the publicly funded healthcare system, nationally and internationally
  • Requires a high level of sound judgment, initiative, and self-direction
  • Demonstrates high degrees of independent decision making, motivation, creativity, flexibility, adaptability, and change management knowledge
  • Proven and highly developed leadership skills including vision, self-awareness, relationship and team building skills, and communication skills
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours

  • Long assignment full-time position; 75 hours biweekly 
  • Approximately 11 months (Assignment length subject to change)

Compensation and Benefits

$45.45 - $60.39 Hourly
