About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Senior Director, Clinical Networks, Perioperative and working closely with the Perioperative Senior Medical Director, the Manager, Planning, Development, and System Performance, is a member of the Perioperative Network.  This position enables and supports the development of strategic initiatives that support excellence in care delivery, improvement in health outcomes, achievement of standards of care, and goals established by Nova Scotia health and the Department of Health and Wellness. 

 

The Manager ensures continuous improvement to advance a vision of innovation and academic excellence within the provision of care and is responsible for the development, maintenance and monitoring of quality management and safety programs, and compliance with relevant standards and accreditation requirements. The Manager facilitates and champions a learning and research environment that aligns with the current and proposed future state of the Nova Scotia Health Authority. 

 

The Manager is responsible for the implementation and day to day management of quality improvement registries (currently the American College of Surgeons - National Surgical Quality Improvement Program, the Society of Vascular Surgeons - Vascular Quality Initiative, and the Society of Thoracic Surgeons) including, identification of improvement opportunities, development and evaluation of improvement initiatives, and management of the Surgical Clinical Nurse Reviewer (SCNR) team.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a health related discipline
  • Master’s Degree in a health related discipline, health administration, business administration or related subject
  • Eligible for registration with relevant health discipline/college or association
  • Certified Health Executive designation is an asset
  • Minimum of 5-7 years working experience and responsibilities in a senior leadership or management position.
  • Sound knowledge and skillful application of population health approaches, community development, health promotion, disease prevention and management.
  • Demonstrates high degree of independent decision-making, self-direction, motivation, change management knowledge and team building/leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to critically analyse evidence-based practices to inform strategy development and organizational planning.
  • Proven project management experience.
  • Strategic planning and systems thinking
  • Previous leadership/management experiences an asset.
  • Experience in planning, coordinating, delivery and evaluation of PHC and community-based initiatives

Hours

 

  • Permanent, Full-time; 75 hours bi-weekly
  • The location for this position is flexible within the province
  • Some travel will be required for this position 

 

Compensation and Benefits

$48.16 - $64.00 Hourly
