About the Opportunity

The Interventional Technologist, under the general supervision of the area manager, is responsible for the operation of radiological and accessory equipment requiring minimum supervision, independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative. Performing radiological procedures for the purpose of medical diagnosis which includes: assessing requisitions for appropriate examinations, views, and equipment required; obtaining the pertinent history, selecting techniques and positioning patients to attain quality images; processing images, operating equipment providing radiation protection and practices sterile techniques when required; performance of clerical duties related to the handling of the customer.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Must be a graduate of an accredited School of Radiological Technology
  • Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) certification
  • Nova Scotia College of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Professionals (NSCMIRTP) licensure 
  • Angiography experience an asset
  • CAMRT Interventional Radiology courses an asset
  • Knowledge of Interventional Radiology Procedures preferred
  • CPR qualifications current
  • Knowledge of aseptic technique, contrast injection pumps, and radiation safety
  • Must maintain an ongoing interest in updating knowledge of new equipment, technologies, and procedures
  • A high degree of mental and visual acuity is required as well as reasonable manual dexterity
  • Must have the ability to consistently perform technical procedures with a high degree of accuracy and must be able to work as a team and work alone
  • Must communicate effectively with customers and colleagues and must recognize, respect, and maintain patients' confidentiality
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours

  • Long assignment full-time position; 75 hours bi-weekly
  • Approximately 12 months
  • Shifts are 7.5 and 10 hour shifts with callback evenings, nights and weekends

Compensation and Benefits

$36.15 - $42.19 hourly
