About the Opportunity
The Manager works with the Health Service Director within Heart Health and the Central Zone, to facilitate the daily administrative and clinical operations of the areas of responsibility and to ensure the delivery of a high quality, safe and efficient cardiac and vascular diagnostics services with a provincial mandate. The manager must balance the demand on the services based on inpatient, outpatient, and emergency needs. The Manager works in collaboration with other managers and staff to develop and implement policies and procedures which are congruent with the program and overall corporate plan of NSHA.
It is the responsibility of the Manager in collaboration with the Heart Health Business Manager to oversee equipment-related services and contracts throughout all sites within the Central Zone and work closely with Equipment and Service Contract managers. The Manager works in a co-leadership relationship with the designated Division Chief / Medical Director(s) for assigned areas/facilities and works with modality leads to facilitate standardized services.
Duties are performed in accordance with the Mission, Vision, Values, Standards, Policies and Procedures of the NSHA, which is committed to patient safety, continued quality improvement, and advancing the delivery of safe and trusted health services.
About You
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
- Bachelor's degree in in Medical Imaging Technology required.
- Credentialed with Sonography Canada, Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologists or other imaging-related credentialing body.
- Licensed/be eligible to practice by the Nova Scotia College of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Professionals
- Equivalent combinations of experience and/or alternative education shall be considered.
- The following would be considered an asset:
- Masters Level Degree in health related discipline, health administration, business administration or related subject.
- Registration with relevant health or professional discipline/college or association
- Certified Health Executive designation with the Canadian College of Health Leaders
- Minimum 5 years recent clinical experience in a position included in this portfolio.
- 3-5 years of recent relevant supervisory/managerial experience, demonstrating progressive development of financial, strategic and people management skills.
- Leadership, organizational and decision skills in support of patient, family and client-centred diagnostic imaging services.
- Knowledge in field to help inform strategy development and organizational planning.
- Experience in financial planning and management.
- Understanding of the principles of project management with demonstrated ability to lead work teams.
- Familiarity with quality improvement methodologies. (e.g., LEAN)
- Ability to analyse and interpret statistical data and monitor quality and performance indicators and benchmarks.
- Possesses functional knowledge of Cardiac and Vascular Information Systems and document control systems.

- Permanent full-time position; 75 hours biweekly

Compensation and Benefits
$45.45 - $60.39 Hourly
