The Interprofessional Practice and Learning team facilitates and advances person-centered care through evidence-based professional practice and learning strategies and programs that are designed provincially and implemented locally to enhance collaborative learning and practice. The Interprofessional Practice and Learning team takes a leadership role in creating a culture of collaboration with a focus on team-based care, evidence-informed practice, and learning and professional development to improve health outcomes for patients, families and communities. Through strong partnerships with the academic sector, regulators, and government, the Interprofessional Practice and Learning team has an integral role in influencing and operationalizing health system priorities.

About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Dalhousie School of Health Sciences' Director, this multi-faceted role encompasses curriculum/program development, implementation and evaluation. Program design, research, development, teaching, evaluation, advisory and disciplinary action as well as continuous quality improvement are mandated for both academic and clinical programming. Continuous professional development with clinical focus, academic advances and theory are critical to the role of an Educator. The responsibilities, integration and synthesis of this position must be in accordance with Accreditation Canada (EQual tm) accreditation standards and Dalhousie University Academic Governance. 

 

This position will require periodic travel to facilities within the Province. A valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation is required.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • A relevant Bachelor's degree is required
  • Master’s degree in health-related discipline or education preferred 
  • Active practicing licensure with Nova Scotia College of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Professionals (NSCMIRTP) required
  • Minimum of three (3) years related clinical experience in radiological technology required
  • Experience in general imaging preferred
  • Registered member of Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) is required
  • BLS-C (HCP) certification required
  • An interest in working with students in all general imaging areas providing direct patient care and supporting students in their learning needs, including, but not limited to, one-on-one and group teaching, scheduling and assessment
  • University level teaching and curriculum development experience and an understanding of universal design for learning (UDL) is considered an asset
  • University level teaching experience is considered an asset
  • Experience in student supervision, evaluation, feedback and assessment experience is considered an asset
  • Experience in simulation delivery and assessment preferred
  • Knowledge of the principles of adult teaching and learning & experience in facilitating learning activities is considered an asset
  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated research capacity & productivity is considered an asset
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours

Permanent, Full-Time (75 hours bi-weekly)

Compensation and Benefits

$37.79 - $49.68 hourly
$73,686 - $96,869 annually
$51.41 hourly ($100,259 annually) with 25 years' experience
