About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Manager of Business Development, the Business Development Coordinator is responsible for business development activities on behalf of Innovation. The Coordinator will be supporting the development, and strategic and collaborative opportunities with partners from the private, public, philanthropic and research sectors. This role will interface with internal clinical departments to mobilize the launch of new services and demonstrate innovation thought leadership. Externally, the role will interface with the innovation ecosystem funders, private industry, academia, start-up companies, government departments, etc.
The Business Development Coordinator supports the Manager of Business Development and leadership team by facilitating partnerships—especially with the private sector—to increase resources for innovation and maximize the value of Nova Scotia Health’s intellectual property. The role helps establish internal infrastructure and external partnerships to support the introduction of new technologies and services, using strategic thinking, collaboration, and business expertise. The coordinator works with industry, government, research groups, and clinical teams to build partnerships and advance economic development and innovation initiatives. They also support organizational strategies and operational plans, ensuring continuous improvement, compliance with legislation and standards, and alignment with the mission, vision, and values of Nova Scotia Health.
About You
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with at least 5-10 years professional experience in business administration, research administration, business management, marketing, or a related field.
- Proven experience in strategic planning, particularly in public institutions.
- Proven track record in pursuit of funding, partnership-building and investment attraction.
- Experience in government relations.
- Experience in managing multi-stakeholder initiatives and projects and with stakeholder liaison and management.
- Experience in the local health sciences environment is an asset.
- Business planning and budget management experience.
- Experience in project management principles and implementation would be considered an asset.
- Demonstrated knowledge of policy impact and development.
- Knowledge of health care organizations and the health sector.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, negotiation and decision-making skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills to effectively build relationships and interact with all clients in scope.
- High level of competence in both written and verbal communication is critical.
- Experience working with diversity of staff and stakeholders, with knowledge of cultural competence, diversity and social inclusion.
- Ability to analyze and interpret statistical data and monitor quality and performance indicators and benchmarks is an asset.
- Sound knowledge of information systems and financial management.

Hours
- Long Assignment, Full-Time; 75 Hours Bi-Weekly
- March 2026 to March 2027, approximately 12 months (dates subject to change depending on start date)
Compensation and Benefits
$39.29 - $49.11 Hourly
