About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Manager, Shared Compensation (S-Comp) the Assistant is responsible for assisting with the timely processing of all routine Compensation transactions through the administration of job evaluation documentation, job description record keeping. The Assistant provides general support to the S-Comp Team along with its associated committees.

 

The Assistant ensures compliance and alignment with relevant legislation, regulations, collective agreements, policies, operational and strategic objectives, and the mission, vision and values of the organization. The Assistant is responsible to maintain a high degree of data and business process quality and integrity, and to actively participate in the continuous improvement process. The Assistant applies knowledge and experience in successfully carrying out base level functions.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Graduate of post-secondary degree/diploma in Human Resources or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) preferred
  • Minimum of 1 year working experience in compensation/ benefits administration including knowledge of standard compensation principles; skill in analyzing and evaluating job content, preferably in a unionized environment.
  • Demonstrated planning, organizing, prioritizing and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing including drafting, editing and formatting correspondence.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills including ability to work as a team member and ability to foster collaborative relationships.
  • Demonstrated accountability, initiative, and ability to work independently.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply critical thinking, synthesize information, problem solve and utilize good judgment in decision making.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality; recognize sensitive issues and respond appropriately.
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing learning and professional development.
  • Demonstrated good attendance in current and past employment.
  • Exemplary work history as demonstrated in current and past employment.
  • Physical capabilities to perform the duties of the position.
  • Some travel will be required.

Hours

  • Permanent Full-time position; 75 hours biweekly
  • Location of position will be determined based on the Successful Candidate

Compensation and Incentives

$23.09 - $28.86 Hourly
