Reporting to the Diagnostic Imaging Manager, the Technologist is responsible for the efficient operation of the CT scanners located throughout the Cape Breton Regional / QEII Health Sciences Centre. They will organize and perform computed tomography examinations in an efficient and professional manner.

The Technologist positions the patient to obtain high quality images; operates equipment safely while following radiation protection guidelines, practices sterile techniques when required and performs clerical duties related to the handling of the customer.

Coverage at other sites may be required.


* Must be a graduate of an accredited School of Radiological Technology
* Eligibility for registration with CAMRT/NSMIRTP
* CAMRT CT courses or CT Imaging Certificate an asset
* Current CPR an asset
* Must maintain an ongoing interest in updating knowledge of new equipment, technologies and procedures
* CT experience preferred
* IV experience preferred or willing to be trained in intravenous injection and will be required to use a contrast injector
* Works independently and as a health care team member to ensure exceptional patient care
* A high degree of mental, visual, and manual dexterity is required
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills
* Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

$33.08 - $38.61 hourly
