About the Opportunity

The Booking Officer is responsible for the efficient and effective scheduling/booking of Endoscopy room time as well as the efficient management of hospital beds and services for optimum patient flow. Acts as a liaison with various departments including Endoscopy, physician/surgeons and their offices, clinics, nursing units, Patient Flow Managers & Emergency Department. Responsible for booking patients for inpatient/outpatient procedures, as well as the maintenance of the waitlist. Responsible for contacting patients via telephone/mail out regarding procedures dates and required preparations. This position will work in close collaboration with the Central Zone Endoscopy Wait List Manager.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Grade XII or equivalent required
  • Business/administrative/secretarial program required
  • Two years of previous related work experience is required
  • Medical Terminology course required
  • Experience using PHS and STAR, preferably in an ambulatory care setting; Advanced PHS training preferred
  • Computer experience (Windows, MS Office) and typing/keyboarding are required Minimum of 40 wpm with accuracy
  • Excellent communication skills with patients, families, physicians, nurses and other hospital personnel
  • Possess organizational skills necessary to integrate various aspects of department functions about patient in-hospital & surgical care
  • Knowledge and ability to prioritize admissions by various levels of severity
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

  • Permanent full-time positions; 70 hours biweekly

Compensation and Benefits

$25.19 - $28.08 Hourly
