Attendance and Disability Consultant, Occupational Health, Safety and Wellness

About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Provincial Manager – Disability Management, Occupational Health, Safety and Wellness, the Attendance and Disability Consultant (ADC) is responsible for developing, implementing policies, processes and programs that promote an accommodation and an attendance support service which complies with collective agreements, employment guides and relevant legislation. The ADC works collaboratively with key stakeholders to identify barriers to regular and consistent attendance at work and to develop action plans for eliminating and/or reducing these barriers. The ADC has an understanding of employee work-related job functions as well as the physical and cognitive demands of various jobs.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

• Post-secondary degree in a health related field (Nursing, Physiotherapy or Occupational Therapy preferred) or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience required
• Completion of an appropriate and/or working towards credentials in the fields of Disability Management and/or Occupational Health & Safety preferred
• Additional training/certification in areas of occupational health safety and wellness is an asset
• Member in good standing with respective discipline college and associations
• Two years disability management experience with experience in the accommodation of employees in a unionized environment is required
• Past experience in performing job demand analysis is preferred
• Excellent communication (verbal and written), problem solving and decision making and conflict resolution skills
• Knowledge of adult education and learning principles
• Knowledge of Occupation Health Safety and Wellness issues and trends
• Knowledge of the Health Care environment and associated job demands tasks
• Excellent understanding and knowledge of collective agreements and organization polices, employment guides, and applicable legislation (e.g. privacy legislation, Labour Standards Code)
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint), MS Internet Explorer, Outlook and other information management systems
• Competencies in other languages an asset; French preferred

• Permanent full-time position; 75 hours biweekly

Compensation and Benefits

Pay Scale Type: Non-Union
Band: NU04
Hourly Rate: $39.05- $47.84
Annual Salary: $76,150 - $93,284
